Also, i never said it was dumb to ban for gender "harassment" i said it was dumb to ban for calling people the wrong gender. Some people either don't know or prefer not to, okay? Calling someone the wrong pronoun isn't harassment at all, calling someone something rude for preferring a different gender is.
Ash has never told me to do that, for one (unless i missed it) AND i forget things or i don't believe i am exposing your sex.
I will slightly agree that this is a little ridiculous since this rule doesn't apply to that many people who prefer different gender nouns/don't want their sex given out. A rule should honestly apply to everyone, so this is kinda nearing the RIDIC side of my scale. Another note, I've never really see harassment brought up by this, the gender thing rarely brings up an argument and a few nights ago was one of those rare occasions. Disrespectful? I guess you could say that, but I don't necessarily see that many people having a problem with it. People can simply ask for us to use the right pronoun, you don't need to make it a huge rule. And now im moving on to the sex statement. Usually if someone reveals someone's sex when they don't want it revealed, it's because they don't know that they don't want it revealed, or because they were joking. Like I said above, simply ask and it'll get better. No need for these rules when asking people works pretty well rather than banning for doing a kinda dumb thing.
Cause saying "stop with caps" was so difficult. This may confuse users, we have to understand that we have to be clear with our warnings. People may not know what it means when you put a * into the announcement, while they'll definitely understand when we say "stop the caps" or "a bit spammy there" just pointing out that it has worked and we can't exactly avoid users using caps since it is addicting to do and for some hard to notice they're even doing it.
Now listen, pointing out their biological sex CAN'T be against the rules. If they ask nicely for us not to sure we'll stop, but come on it's merely stating a fact. It's not harassment for me to say someone who is female but prefers being male IS female. Im stating a fact about them. If i said that it's disgusting that they prefer being called another gender, sure that's wrong, but merely saying that they're female isn't. Second of all you can't just make this a rule without everyone's agreement. I myself wasn't even consulted for even the making of this blog and im sure other staff members weren't either.
Thank you for making this Aquua, really gets the point across to our staff members.
